A Lie Or Dementia?

From our friend William Teach over at the Pirate’s Cove comes this post concerning Joe Biden and a statement he made in a Presidential Townhall:

Biden said, “There’s just not all of a sudden 600 million doses are going to appear. What’s going to happen is it’s going to continue to increase as we move along, and we’ll have reached 400 million by the end of May and 600 million by the end of July. The biggest thing, though, as you remember, when you and I— I shouldn’t say it that way as you remember— when you and I talked last we talked about, it’s one thing to have the vaccine, which we didn’t have when we came into office, but a vaccinator. How do you get the vaccine into someone’s arm?” (emphasis ours)

So Biden claims the vaccine that was administered to him in December wasn’t in existence when he came into office in January.

Right. Got it.

Anderson Cooper never mentioned the issue in the Townhall. Nor did Cooper mention or ask Biden about the growing scandal in New York concerning Governor Cuomo’s handling of patients in nursing homes and under reporting deaths there.

Also ignored during the televised event was the dramatic resignation of White House Deputy Press Secretary TJ Ducklo, who was forced to resign Sunday after it was revealed that he berated a Politico reporter with sexist language and threatened to “destroy” her for pursuing a story about his blossoming relationship with Axios reporter Alexi McCammond.

Biden came in for criticism during the fiasco, with critics pointed to comments he made last month warning administration appointees: “I’m not joking when I say this: If you’re ever working with me and I hear you treat another with disrespect, talking down to someone, I will fire you on the spot. On the spot. No ifs, ands, or buts.”

Ducklo was initially only given a one-week unpaid suspension after the story broke, which came three weeks after the White House communications staff was made aware of his conduct.

(If you remember, President Trump was often castigated by the media for he and his staff pushing back against reporters and here you have Biden keeping around a person who not only berated a female reporter, but threatened her job as well.)

This follows Vice President Kamala Harris’ claims that there was no strategy or stockpiles of vaccine for distribution of the vaccine when Biden and Harris came into office and that they were “starting from scratch:”

During an interview with Axios co-founder Mike Allen that aired on HBO Sunday, Harris was asked about the struggles of the administration’s response to the pandemic after nearly one month in office.

“There was no stockpile … of vaccines,” Harris responded. “There was no national strategy or plan for vaccinations. We were leaving it to the states and local leaders to try and figure it out. And so in many ways, we’re starting from scratch on something that’s been raging for almost an entire year!”

Harris directly contradicted White House adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci’s remarks last month responding to CNN reporting that made a similar claim.

“We certainly are not starting from scratch because there is activity going on in the distribution,” Fauci said during a White House press briefing.

Glenn Kessler, the Washington Post fact-checker who famously kept a running tally of the falsehoods uttered during the Trump presidency, has yet to weigh in on the statement by Harris.

We do have to say that in his Town Hall with Biden, Cooper asked the hard hitting, deep thought questions:

Cooper did, however, dedicatee the last several minutes of the town hall to ask Biden “what’s it like” to live in the White House.”

“Was it different than you expected it to be in some ways?” he asked at one point.

Trump would have been asked “what is the formula for the vaccine and how does it work?”

Biden gets “are the pillows soft?”

One Response to “A Lie Or Dementia?”

  1. Moon Doggy says:

To address the question of was it a lie vs dementia:
I believe in Joe’s statements it was both. From the VP remarks it appears the talking point is “there was no stockpiles or national plan” for vaccine distribution when they came into office. As Fauci indicated there was, so they VP’s remark is slanted and subjective but not an outright lie. Joe turned that into there was no vaccine when they came into office. It was actually hard to make sense of the presidents rambling words and what he meant. The sentence highlighted uses several phrases like: “You and I”, “the one thing”, and “the biggest thing” which look like catch phrases he uses to fill the void when he’s not sure what to say. Very scary and the Dems claimed they were worried about President Trumps mental capacity, this guy seems much more dangerous and I suspect he won’t be in office for much longer, which I believe was the plan all along.
