Idiot Gets Banned From Ballparks For Life. It’s Not Enough.

This past Saturday, the Boston Red Sox were visiting their hated rivals, the New York Yankees.

After warming up in the bottom of the sixth inning, Boston left fielder Alex Verdugo tossed the ball he was warming up with into the stands toward a young kid in the stands.

We can only imagine how big the kid’s eyes must have gotten to see a major leaguer throwing a ball to him. It is the type of thing where kids will sleep with the ball, show their friends and family and anyone who will listen.

It is a lot of good will and a lot of memories for a $6.00 baseball.

But some idiot “adult” in the stands intercepted the ball thrown toward the kid, and when Verdugo turned to assume his position for the start of the half inning, the idiot throw the ball back at Verdugo, hitting him.

Verdugo was understandably upset.

The game had to be stopped to point out the fan and eject him from the game.

The Red Sox briefly left the field. After all, if security won’t protect the players from butt wipes like that fan, why put yourself at risk?

Yesterday Major League Baseball announced the punishment for the fan:

NEW YORK — The fan who hit Boston Red Sox left fielder Alex Verdugo with a baseball thrown from the Yankee Stadium stands has been banned for life from attending major league games.

The decision was confirmed Sunday by spokesmen for both the New York Yankees and Major League Baseball.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora briefly pulled his team off the field in the sixth inning Saturday night after Verdugo was struck in the back by a ball thrown from the left-field seats. He was not hurt.

“While the Yankees appreciate the spirit and passion of our fans in our various rivalries — especially with the Red Sox — reckless, disorderly and dangerous behavior that puts the safety of players, field staff or fellow fans in jeopardy will not be tolerated,” the Yankees said in a statement Sunday.

“There is absolutely no place for it at Yankee Stadium. The safety of everyone at Yankee Stadium, including guests in the stands and players on the field, will always be the top priority for the Yankees organization every time we open our doors.”

[….] reported Sunday the fan was not arrested. (emphasis ours)

Really? No one arrested this idiot clown?

Attendance for the 2019 season at Yankee Stadium was 3,304,404. Does anyone really think that this clown won’t be able to slip back into the ball park? That the Yankees’ security will spot him at the gates?

He wouldn’t be able to attend games if he were in jail – where he should be.

We are still amazed at how stupid and ridiculous people are these days.

The so called adult was willing to rob a kid of a ball and then assault a player?

For what, exactly?

There is no excuse for this. None.

And there is no excuse for not prosecuting the person.
