Old Tweets Resurface, And They Aren’t “Berry” Good.

We wrote the other day about Gwen Berry, who acted like a child on the podium during the Olympic trials, and then turned away from the flag while the national anthem was playing.

Berry said that the flag “didn’t represent her,” as an excuse.

Tweets from Berry’s past have been brought forth. For someone who claims to want to end racism, she sure says a lot of racist things:

There is an old saying that when you point a finger at someone, there are three fingers pointing back at you.

Or to put it another way, “people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

Or if you like,

You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Matthew 7:5 (NIV)

As anyone who reads this blog knows, we are a huge proponent and defender of the idea of free speech.

However, while “censorship” normally deals with government suppression of speech, speech may be “free,” but it is not without consequences.

Here it is clear that Berry is an America hating bigoted racist.

That is not who we are as a country and as such she should not represent the US in the Olympics.

It is time for organizations and companies that sponsor these bigots to step up to the plate.
