The Christmas Light Corollary To Murphy’s Law.

We have discovered the Christmas Light Corollary to Murphy’s Law.

Murphy’s law is a popular adage that states that “things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance,” or more commonly, “whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.” A number of variants on the rule have been formulated, as have several corollaries.

Our corollary: When searching for a burned out bulb in a string of lights, the burned out bulb is always closer to the end that you did not start on.

Of course, that ties a little bit into the “50-50-90 rule” which states that any time you have a 50%-50% choice, 90% of the time you choose the wrong one.
